Yet, if you are looking for a mentor for your research project, remember these rules to look for the right one:

1. Find somebody who is passionate about research and publish regularly (check their name in PubMed, ResearchGate or Google Scholar)

2. Find somebody who is willing to teach and help

3. Be proactive, don't expect people give you and you don't show interest, reliability and determination first

4. Find somebody who likely has already a team of collaborators (this usually means more projects or less work per project!

5. If somebody isn't good fit for you, CHANGE as soon as possible and don't waste time!

The same is valid for team collaborators, never waste your precious time if you want tangible results!

You have different options:

1. Ask your mentor if he/she has already a team

2. Ask your friends/colleagues, if they have similar goals to you, it is better to have someone without experience and who you trust rather than somebody with experience you don't trust! Ask friends first!

3. Reply to my Instagram videos and say where you are from, what you do and what is your interest field and maybe somebody will just comment back and will collaborate with you!

4. NOT recommended, but still an option, try to ask in some Facebook Research groups if anybody is interested in collaborating with you. Likelihood is that these groups are full of spam-messages from journals trying to get you to publish there for a fee, or nobody answers back. Worth checking if you like this option!
