The goal is to help you understand what is feasible for you based on your skills, time and resources, then choose the strongest realistic route forward. That strategic thinking also makes you more valuable, whether you are contributing to somebody else's research team or leading your own project.
Get the foundations right, and everything that follows becomes easier. Choose the wrong project for your circumstances, and even excellent writing cannot fully rescue it.
